Sofya Wang is an indie/ alternative pop artist based in Los Angeles. First generation Chinese American and an active member of the LGBTQ+ community, she writes songs exploring her own interpersonal relationships, sensuality, and romanticism. With eclectic and ever expanding influences from top 40s pop to alt rnb artists,indie electronica bands, hip hop, underground rave music, and even sultry crooning country ballads, Sofya effortlessly blends genres, just as she does with her own gender expression. She lives life with endless self exploration and fluidity.
With songs such as “Boys Aside” and “Found Love”, Sofya’s releases have garnered a loyal fan base from the wlw community. She has been creatively directing her own music videos and executive producing her songs independently since the age of 18. A single from her alt-pop EP, Found love, has also reached a collective 1.6 million streams on Spotify. Sofya has been featured on billboard article “celebrate AAPI heritage month 2022 with Hayley kiyoko, Keshi, and more”. She has also been featured on gaytimes—all completely organically. With an electrifying stage presence, Sofya doesn’t shy away from her live audience either. Notable performances include: opening for Phantogram at SXSW, opening for Olivia O’Brien at The Roxy, and performing for the US- Asia entertainment summer at the Skirball.
